What is Brain Gym®?

Brain Gym® is for anyone who would like to reduce their stress levels and improve their cognitive function.  Brain Gym was developed by Dr. Paul E. Dennison and Gail E. Dennison in 1987 in Ventura, California.  As educators they found that simple movement supported the ease of learning while enhancing our understanding of ourselves, and how we move in space.  They developed 26 foundational movements that are naturally done during the first years of life when learning to co-ordinate the eyes, ears, hands, and whole body.  The Dennisons found after practicing these movements the physical blocks released and stress is was reduced allowing the learners to better able express their innate intelligence and abilities.

Many schools, corporations, care facilities, and athletic training programs incorporate  Brain Gym® into their programming.  It is also applied in  personal and professional growth programs..

How Does  Brain Gym® Help our Brains Function More Effectively?

Movement helps the brain form new neural pathways, and strengthens the existing ones, which increases cognition, improves memory and helps us to acquire knowledge more quickly.  The movements  practiced in  Brain Gym® are simple, and do not require athletic ability.  They are fun to do, need no special equipment.  ...only water to drink, a little bit of space to move in and comfortable clothes

Brain Gym® movement programs are beneficial for all ages, children, adolescents, adults, seniors.  Brain Gym can benefit teachers, coaches, therapists, caregivers, musicians or anyone who would like to improve performance or help others to do the same.

Private  Brain Gym® Sessions with Janet

Spending time one on one is a powerful way to make shifts and better understand your individual physical and cognitive needs.  Booking a  private session for yourself or your child can be done through email or phone.  We can discuss your needs and craft a session that will best support you or your child.
